About

I’m half-Persian, half-British, and raised in the UK except for a few years in Belgium. I studied Natural Sciences at Jesus College, Cambridge, and graduated in 2021. I continued my studies there for an MPhil in Biological Sciences, which involved research on DNA replication initiation in human cells.

I’m now a PhD student at the University of Zurich, in the group of Professor Andreas Wagner. I’m doing research on DNA evolution in bacteria and fitness landscapes.

Hobbies

In my spare time, I like climbing. This includes mountaineering, bouldering, and whatever else I get my hands on. My biggest feats are Mt Davamand (2016) and Mt Blanc (2023).

In my second year at university I somehow started pole vaulting, which I sometimes still do.
